What weekends are for

For the last three years of my life, weekends have been for working... saturdays in Your Life Your Style, and Sundays on university work. But not for much longer! In two months time, my weekends will once again be my own as I enter the world of the unemployed graduate.

This past weekend I had a glimpse of what that could be like, apart from the fact that I will have no money.

On saturday Claire and I went to Buddy's for a yummy breakfast of blueberry pancakes and maple syrup, and we decided to go for a wander down the high street as it was the first Saturday that we had both not been working in a long time!

Savouring the freedom, we walked past the buttercross and there was a fantastic busking band playing. And I mean fantastic. The music they were playing so reflected our relaxed, easy going mood that we decided to take a seat at the West Cornwall Pasty Company with hot chocolates and enjoy the music.

And we ended up staying there for two hours!

And the weekend got even better when I re-discovered my old love - walking! Just five minutes away from my house in Stanmore, there are fields and lanes which remind me of home. On saturday evening, I took a walk down these and saw lambs a-frolicking, pigs oinking and a beautiful sunset!

I think I may enjoy my summer without responsibility...
